Internet is a global phonemena that affects all aspects in our life. Arab internet users are increasing rapidly. However the tools that help those users' needs are not fully tolerated to fulfill their requirements. The growth of the communication between different internet users globally leads to change of the language is used and its format. Arab Chat Alphabet (ACA) is created for this reason. Since the Arabic language is used in a minimum base on the internet, Arab users created a new format of the Arabic language, this format uses English letters to express Arabic words. Usually ACA is used in Instant Messaging (IM) and chatting purposes. For this reason it is important to understand the different available tools that write this language and validate the usage of theses tools. The paper's aim is to report on the survey of the different ACA translation tools and emphasizing the importance of theses tools in other applications like text mining, Information Retrieval and English Arabic translation. An Experiment is executed to validate the translation tools, results had shown that Microsoft Maren tool has the highest accuracy compared to the other tools.

Diploma Thesis from the year 2002 in the subject Computer Science - Miscellaneous, grade: 1,0, University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld (unbekannt), language: English, abstract: Inhaltsangabe:Abstract:Language learning software has been available on the market for a couple of years. So far the most common form of delivering the product is a CD-Rom. The Internet offers not only the possibility to deliver this product in an immaterial way, but also to add new features to it.The goal of the thesis is to find out, which additional features an online offered language learning software must possess, to satisfy the needs of the customer. This task is part of the so called new product development process. It is a very complex process and refers to all departments of a company, even though, for a long time it has been considered to be only the job of the R & D department. But to solve the above mentioned task, the technical component, of new product development is not important. For this piece of work only the point of view of the marketing department is important, as it is their duty to observe the market expectations. Therefore this thesis only covers the first part of new product development, the opportunity identification, and partly the design.Firstly the different environments were studied and secondary data were collected. A main part of the secondary data were delivered by a European Union study from the year 2000. This research was focused on the knowledge and habits of EU inhabitants regarding foreign languages. After the examination of the available secondary data, the required primary data were collected, to find out how the single features satisfy the requirements of the target group. Other secondary data were delivered by pedagogical departments of universities. They researched and evaluated, from the pedagogical point of view, possible online features like e-mail, newsgroups and chats, videoconferences, downloadable video / audio files and up to date articles. This thesis objective is to find out, how these possible features meet the requirements of the customer, or to be more precise of the target group. Therefore the target group had to be defined. Defined by profession, the target group consist of: Students in higher education and universities, managers and White Collar Workers. Thanks to the secondary data, the needs of the target group are known. To obtain the required primary data, on how the possible product features satisfy the market needs, a questionnaire was designed. The interviews took place in two countries and at international courses in order to be able to consider domestic differences. The universities were: The University of Applied Science, Bielefeld, Germany and the Universidade do Minho, Braga Portugal. The results were analysed and afterwards the few available offers, of online language learning products, were evaluated according to the obtained results. Resulting from this work one can state that there is a general positive attitude of the respondents regarding the new possible features, even though different attitude groups exist. The features that are considered to be the most valuable and helpful ones are E-mail, newsgroups and Chat and Downloadable Video / Audio files . At present there is not even a handful of companies, which are offering one or all of the new possible features, on the Internet. This means the entry barrier for this emerging market is still very low and that makes this market quite attractive.Inhaltsverzeichnis:Table of Contents:1.)Executive Summary42.)Introduction6a.)A General outline of the development in Europe6b.)Elearning of foreign languages7c.)The part of New Product Development83.)Literature Review9a.)Introduction9b.)Elearning from the pedagogical point of View9c.)Problems of New Product Development11i....
Cisco® Catalyst® compact switches (Figure 1) easily extend an intelligent, fully managed Cisco Catalyst wired switching infrastructure, including end-to-end IP and Borderless Network services, with a single Ethernet cable or fiber from the wiring closet. These attractive, small form-factor Gigabit and Fast Ethernet switches are ideal for connecting multiple devices on the retail sales floor and in classrooms, hotels, and factories and for extending wireless LAN networks: wherever space is at a premium and multiple cable runs could be challenging. Cisco Catalyst 2960-C and 3560-C Series Compact Switches highlights: - Extend a highly secure, intelligent, managed Cisco Catalyst infrastructure with a single Ethernet cable or fiber from the wiring closet - Support for advanced security and services, including voice, video, and Cisco Borderless Network services, to remote endpoints - Power over Ethernet (PoE) pass-through enables the compact switch to draw power from the wiring closet and pass it to end devices (selected models) - Attractive, small form factor and fanless operation fit in confined spaces where multiple cable runs could be challenging - Easy to deploy, manage and extend the network loop free - Enhanced limited lifetime hardware warranty Cisco Catalyst 2960-C and 3560-C Series Software Cisco Catalyst 2960-C Series compact switches ship with the LAN Base version of Cisco IOS® Software, as available on other Cisco Catalyst 2960 Series Switches. Similarly, Cisco Catalyst 3560-C compact switches ship with the IP Base version of Cisco IOS Software, as with other 3560 Series switches. Neither series of compact switches can be upgraded. Cisco Catalyst 2960-C switches deliver advanced Layer 2 switching with intelligent Layer 2 through 4 services for the network edge, such as voice, video, and wireless LAN services. The IP Base feature set on Cisco Catalyst 3560-C switches adds baseline enterprise services, including support for routed access, Cisco TrustSec®, media access control security (MACsec), and other Cisco Borderless Network services. The LAN Base feature set offers enhanced intelligent services that include comprehensive Layer 2 features. The IP Base feature set provides baseline enterprise services in addition to all LAN Base features. IP Base also includes the support for routed access, MACsec, and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF). Applications Cisco Borderless Networks and Access Switching Borderless Networks, a Cisco next-generation architecture, deliver the new workspace experience, connecting anyone, anywhere, using any device, to any resource - securely, reliably, transparently. The Cisco Borderless Networks architecture addresses primary IT and business challenges to help create a truly borderless experience by bringing interactions closer to the employee and customer. Innovations in switching help organizations deliver ease of operation, green efficiency, security, and performance to accelerate the way IT delivers and scales those services on the network. Cisco Compact Switches for Retail Major retailers are increasingly moving customer-facing IP-based applications and services to the middle of the sales floor. A typical transaction area on the floor will often include multiple point-of-sale terminals, card readers, IP phones, and printers. Free-standing kiosks, which allow customers to access online catalogs with click-to-chat capabilities and other applications, are being deployed. Cisco Catalyst compact switches extend fully managed IP services, including end-to-end PCI-compliant solutions, to the floor with a single Ethernet cable or fiber. Because of their quiet operation, attractive appearance, and flexible mounting options, they are ideally suited for mounting in confined spaces on the floor. Cisco Compact Switches for Education Video and distance learning applications have become a common part of the curriculum for K-12 and higher education. Support for IP phones and secure wired and wireless connectivity in the classroom are also common requirements. Yet schools and universities must often work within limited budgets and aging facilities, making wiring runs from a central point in the building to multiple devices in the classroom cost prohibitive. Cisco Catalyst compact switches extend fully managed IP services to the classroom with a single Ethernet cable or fiber. Quiet operation and flexible mounting options make them ideally suited for classrooms or confined areas nearby. Cisco Compact Switches Extend Enterprise Networks Enterprises often look to extend the reach of their networks - to bring wired connectivity to more employees and to support new wireless deployments. Running additional Ethernet cables for individual devices might be impractical, but the same security, services, and management must be supported. Cisco Catalyst 2960-C and 3560-C Series compact switches extend the wired Cisco access infrastructure, 8 or 12 ports at a time, with a single Ethernet cable or fiber, all while delivering the same services as the Cisco Catalyst switches in the wiring closet. PoE, quiet operation, and flexible mounting options allow placement in confined spaces. Cisco Networked Sustainability: Good for Business, Better for Environment - PoE pass-through gives the ability to power PoE end devices through drawing PoE from the wiring closet. The Cisco Catalyst 3560CPD-8PT-S and 2960CPD-8PT-L have eight downlink ports with two PoE input ports that allow it to be powered by another switch. These switches do not need a power supply and receives power over the uplink from an upstream PoE or Cisco Universal Power over Ethernet (Cisco UPOE™) device, providing deployment flexibility and availability. These switches are ideal for wiring and space-constrained applications. - Cisco EnergyWise is an innovative architecture, added to the Cisco Catalyst 3560-C and 2960-C Series compact switches, that enables the measurement of power consumption in the network infrastructure and network-attached devices. EnergyWise encompasses a highly intelligent network-based approach to communicate messages that measure and control energy between network devices and endpoints. The network discovers Cisco EnergyWise-manageable devices, monitors their power consumption, and takes action based on business rules to reduce power consumption. - Efficient switch operation: Cisco Catalyst 3560-C and 2960-C Series compact switches use hardware components created by Cisco providing optimum power saving, low-power operations for industry best-in-class power management, and power consumption capabilities. The Cisco Catalyst 3560-C ports are capable of reduced power modes so that ports not in use can move into a lower power utilization state. - IEEE 802.3at or PoE+: Available on the Cisco Catalyst 3560-C is the latest in PoE technology, allowing capable devices to be powered with power output up to 30W per port. Table 2 outlines switch models and power capacity for the Cisco Catalyst 3560-C and 2960-C Series compact switches.
Technical Report from the year 2008 in the subject Computer Science - Software, grade: Merit, London Metropolitan University, course: Computing Information Systems, language: English, abstract: This web based booking and counseling project was initially conceived for Dilemma CounselingServices as a web system, offering counseling to masses (refer to project proposal). The ideathen was to have an online portal where clients can post problems and counselors respond tothem. However the core issue was, whether it would be done for free at the expense of DilemmaCounseling time and finances. But as the idea of the web based counseling system wasbrainstormed by top management, new requirements arose. To maximize potential of the webbased system proposed, the management realized their booking system was a mess and resultedin data duplication and clashing bookings. The ineffectual booking system then in place broughtconstant complaints from clients whose counseling sessions clashed. The Dilemma Staffcontracted me to offer expertise on if counseling and booking can be incorporated into a webbased system that is financially viable this was possible. So I adopted a Unified SoftwareDevelopment Process (USDP) because after interviewing the various staff I was not satisfiedwith the feedback. Thus I choose USDP as the software development method since it allows newrequirements to be factored at any project stage. Sure enough as the software developmentprocess progressed new requirements arose like online counseling system, processing paymentsmade and assigning username and passwords for clients who pay but prefer online counseling asopposed to face to face counseling. The system allows staff to book clients remotely online viasecure log in. The clients counseled can have their progress tracked easily via the securecounseling chat system. I stuck to the USDP process and working on each workflow andresultant artifacts like Unified Modeling Language diagrams to ensure the project was wellmodeled to be realized in construction and transition phases.
